NEWTON, Mass .– (BUSINESS WIRE) – Bright Horizons (NYSE: BFAM) today announced its partnership with OneTen, a coalition of business and education leaders committed to developing, hiring and promoting a million black Americans over the next 10 years in family support jobs – to provide flexible family care services to those seeking career advancement through the initiative. In its first year, OneTen member companies saw an 89% retention rate and over 20,000 hires and promotions for black talent. This partnership is an extension of Bright Horizons’ current role as a OneTen Member and Approved Talent Developer, leveraging its deep experience in building pathways to help improve the skills of the U.S. workforce and support employers to create career paths for black talent.
According to Bright Horizons’ Workforce Education and Equity in the Workplace report, 87% of American workers believe it is important to learn new skills to be successful across the board, with 90% of black workers believing that such advances will be important to their success. in the future. Yet less than half of all employees have been able to complete an education program in the past five years, indicating that money, time and a busy personal life were the main barriers to education.

Thanks to Bright Horizons’ flexible care services, participants in OneTen development programs can book last-minute care for children and the elderly to help them in unexpected situations. This offer is intended to remove one of the main barriers to training programs for black talent in order to advance their careers.
